Why the Riccar R10P is my favorite vacuum cleaner.
I know a lot about carpet cleaning. I'm not bragging. It's just that I was raised in the carpet cleaning business. My Dad started steam cleaning carpets before anybody even heard of such a thing. For me, the vacuum cleaner business is just a natural extension of what I've done my whole life.
People ask me "What's the best vacuum cleaner?" I've never been comfortable with that question, because what's best for one person, may not be the best for another. That's why we carry dozens of makes and models in our store. I often respond saying, "The best vacuum cleaner is the one you like to use."

Still, there are some vacuums that just aren't very good at all. Even in the best brands, there are some I don't offer. That's because I look at the product itself, not just the brand. When selecting products to sell, I have three basic criteria. First, they have to perform well. If it doesn't get the dirt out of the carpet, I don't sell it. Secondly, it has to be maintainable. If the company that makes them doesn't offer service after the sale, I'm not interested. I will not sell a vacuum to a customer that must be mailed across the country for repair.

Third, I won't sell anything I don't want to have to fix. This rules out dozens of cheaply made "department store" vacuums.
Although I sell many good vacuum cleaners, I do have a favorite. That would the Riccar R10P. This is the one I choose over any other when I need to clean the store. It's the one I use in my own house. It's the one I'd buy. Here's why:

#1. Performance. It's cleaning ability is among the very best in the store. This is important to me, because when it comes to vacuuming, I like power. Any vacuum can get the debris on the surface, but relatively few can deep clean like the R10P. You can actually see deeply imbedded sand come to the carpets' surface as you vacuum! If you've never had a quality vacuum before, you've never seen this. My customers are amazed.
(#2. Ease of use. Even though I sell other vacuums that deliver similar performance to the R10P, I choose this one because it's half the weight of them. To me, it is like a high performance sports car. It maneuvers quickly and easily and it's not clunky awkward or cumbersome. It glides into hard to reach areas effortlessly, and allows me to get the task done quickly, without losing my breath. It has a 40 foot cord, so I can vacuum practically the entire house, changing outlets only once.
#3. It's high quality. This machine is made to last decades, not months. If you turn the machine upside-down, you'll find a robust solid steel brush roller. It spins at high speeds resulting in carpet agitation that is not possible in machines that have sparsely bristled, lightweight plastic agitators. Look at the brush on a typical Chinese made vacuum and see the difference! The Riccar R10P also has replaceable brush strips so they can be exchanged when they wear, rather than having to throw away the entire roller. It's constructed of metal in all the high wear areas, and other parts are made of impact resistant ABS plastic similar to that of a football helmet. Even the wheels roll on bearings, rather than plastic "snap in" construction.
#4. Low maintenance. Vacuum belt replacement is the most common maintenance task that we perform in our store. When belts break or stretch, customers often don't realize that their vacuum is performing poorly until weeks or months later. The Riccar R10P, however, has a lifetime belt that never needs to be replaced. It also uses an innovative dust capturing system that is absolutely the cleanest, easiest and most sanitary method in the industry. You have to see it to understand, but it's as close to a perfect system as I have ever seen. #5. It's made in the USA by workers in St. James MO (using globally sourced components.) I feel very strongly about supporting American workers and reducing our reliance on foreign made goods. In the case of quality vacuum cleaner such as the Riccar R10P, I feel it's a "no brainer." The American made product is superior to the imported goods in virtually every way. It's built better, it cleans better, it lasts longer, and when you consider the lifetime cost of ownership it is a much better value.
